Pharma Holdings taps into global mentoring program at AstraZeneca
Pharma Holdings is a (pre)clinical biotech company that develops antiviral drugs targeting airborne viruses (e.g. Influenza and SARS-CoV-2) in vulnerable risk patients. It was critical for them to discuss and coordinate their drug development strategy and commercial plans with relevant industry players.
With assistance from Aleap, AstraZeneca in Gothenburg offered to provide free mentoring from their international pool of highly competent subject matter experts. Pharma Holdings had three "main focus areas" which were documented through email and presentations in advance of their visit. At the head office outside Gothenburg, they were met by a global team of experts within the three priority areas, who asked critical questions, challenged them, and applauded their plans.
"It was a great way to tap into expertise to inform and validate our strategic plans and build our network and relationship with one of the leading actors in the market. I'd highly recommend any early-stage health startup needing access to global pharma expertise to make use of this opportunity!" commented Edvard Christian Fuglset Dahl, Chief Business Development Officer for Pharma Holdings.
Over the past 4 years, AZ has supported numerous Aleap member companies in getting access to expert mentors that have guided them and shared experiences on relevant and critical challenges facing our early-stage startups. Aleap is grateful for this partnership and looks forward to developing this relationship further.
