Since joining Aleap, Vilje Bionics has charted a remarkable journey. What began as a promising early-stage deep-tech venture has grown into a company making real strides in assistive technology. As they now move on from the Aleap ecosystem, we reflect on their progress, impact and prospects ahead.

From Concept to Meaningful Progress

When Vilje Bionics joined Aleap in 2021, their vision was clear: to develop an exoskeleton device that supports the entire arm (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand) for people who have lost or severely impaired arm-function.

Since then, they have accomplished many important milestones:

- Advanced prototype work on their device, called VilPower, with roots in research at NTNU.

- Maintained a strong user-centric approach: from early interviews with patients to building assistive technology that integrates multiple arm functions.

- Strengthened their team and organisational capacity: from student-founders to a more multidisciplinary group (engineers, designers, clinicians) with global ambition.

- Moved closer to regulatory readiness and commercialisation.

During their time with Aleap, Vilje Bionics benefitted from being part of a dynamic community of innovators and health-tech entrepreneurs. They shared, learned and grew alongside other ventures. Being at Aleap also provided them with access to network, visibility and credibility which are particularly important in a field where technology, regulation and market access converge.

“Joining Aleap in 2021 gave us access to a vibrant community of health-tech innovators and the kind of structured support that helped us move from idea to working product. Being part of that ecosystem truly accelerated our development. We are deeply grateful for everything we’ve learned from the many talented and dedicated people in the community, and we look forward to continuing to contribute as alumni.” said Saeid Hosseini, CEO Vilje Bionics.

With Aleap membership now concluded, Vilje Bionics steps into the next phase of greater independence, scaling ambitions, commercial launch and broader impact.

We at Aleap would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Vilje Bionics for everything they have contributed to our community via their ambition, their collaborative spirit, and their transparency about the challenges of bringing deep-tech health innovations to market. They set an example of what an Aleap member can achieve.

We wish the team every success as they forge ahead. We look forward to seeing VilPower change lives, and we remain proud to have been part of their journey.
